1. Introduction
zoogidas.lt is a pet-supply price comparison site: we collect prices from several Lithuanian online pet shops every day and show them in one table. This policy explains what data we collect about visitors — and, more importantly, what we do not.
You can browse, search and compare prices with no account at all — every product and price you see was collected from shops' public pages and has nothing to do with your own actions as a visitor. An account is only needed for one optional feature: price alerts (an email when a product you're watching reaches a price you set).
2. Information we collect
The list of what we collect is short, and most of it only exists if you choose to create an account:
- Account data — if you create an account, we store your email address, a hashed password (never the password itself), the date you signed up, and, for each price alert you set, which product you're watching and your target price. Shop-partner accounts additionally store the product feed URL(s) they submit. Nothing else — no address, payment details or pet profile is ever asked for.
- Form data — the contact form collects your name, email, the reason for reaching out, your message, and a consent checkbox; the partnership form collects your business name, website URL, contact email and a description of your inventory. Both forms only send their data to us by email (queued, asynchronously) — nothing is stored in the site's database.
- Technical server data — request logging is not enabled in the site's server configuration today, so IP addresses and other technical data are not persistently stored server-side. In production, the site runs behind Cloudflare, which briefly processes technical data of this kind (such as IP address) within its own infrastructure to protect the site from abuse — that happens on Cloudflare's side, not in our code, and is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
- Product and price data — this is not personal data — it is publicly available information (prices, product names, stock status) that we collect automatically from shops' public pages.
In short: unless you create an account, submit a form or email us, we know practically nothing about you personally — and even an account only ever holds your email address, a password hash, and whatever you've chosen to set up (price alerts or a product feed).
3. How we use data
What we do with the little data we collect is limited to running the features you asked for:
- Any technical data that briefly reaches the server or Cloudflare is used only to keep the site secure and running — never for marketing or tracking.
- If you email us, we use your email address only to reply to you.
- We use product and price data for exactly what the site exists to do — building the price comparison tables and pages.
- If you have an account, your email address is used only to let you sign in and to send the price-alert emails you set up — never for marketing, and never shared with or sold to a third party.
We never use anything from your email or account for any other purpose without telling you.
5. Data security
Passwords are never stored in plain text — only a salted hash, using Symfony's standard password hasher. The product database stores only price and product information alongside the small account/alerts table; no visitor personal data is mixed into the catalogue data.
In production, the site runs behind Cloudflare, which provides extra protection against abuse and automated traffic.
6. Your choices
If you have an account, you control your own data directly:
- Email us — we will reply and, if you ask, delete your correspondence, your account, or both.
- Manage cookies from the cookie banner or your browser settings — see the full list and their purpose in our Cookie policy.
- Delete a price alert any time from your account's alerts page — no need to email us for that. Deleting your whole account (email, password hash and every alert) is not yet self-service; email us and we'll do it directly, usually the same day.
